In the Middle East, DP has long-established relationships with leading waste management companies and environmental services companies; and has multiple landfill and waste management references operational throughout the region. The growth of more environmentally sustainable approaches to MSW and improvements in source separation will see increased activity in this region; and DP’s Dubai office is the focal point for Middle East activities.  

Many countries on the Indian subcontinent have ambitious plans for renewable energy. With huge biomass potential -in particular rice crop residues and bagasse; and considerable waste management problems there is a great need and opportunity to improve the waste management infrastructure. 

Traditional biomass plants in the region often deploy unsuitable technology, which also lacks the reliability and fuel flexibility needed for economically sustainable plants. DP offers some of the best proven and most cost effective technology for converting these biomass fuels into power and heat, offering a cost-optimized 10 MWe mixed fuel solution which uses High Pressure High Temperature technology. It is specifically tailored to local fuel stocks, and has proven reliability and guaranteed performance.

Another severe problem faced throughout the urban areas is that of municipal waste. With landfill in very short supply and environmentally unsustainable, many governments are prioritizing waste management. DP’s mass burn WtE solutions are both proven and ideally suited to the unsorted waste typically being used as feedstock.   

DP is currently delivering a unique, landmark waste management project in Colombo, Sri Lanka. This plant combines DP’s leading waste management technologies in combustion and anaerobic digestion to cost effectively deliver a 10MWe fully integrated solution using locally sourced and separated MSW as feedstock.
