The Uttaradit plant is in the northern part of Thailand and is the second DP plant in Thailand that uses locally sourced biomass and other renewable sources. The first plant in Mahachai uses coconut waste as the input fuel. Uttaradit uses primarily cane leaves and rice husks.
The Uttaradit facility showcases a comprehensive EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) approach. DP's scope encompassed the supply of the boiler island, which includes fuel feeding, combustion, boiler operation, and flue gas treatment. Additionally, DP designed and programmed the advanced boiler control system, enabling fully automated operation with minimal operator intervention. The plant can maintain full capacity for over 8,300 hours annually.
DP’s MaxMulti HPHT solution, proven in over 100 plants worldwide, is especially effective for achieving efficient handling and maximum output from complex, corrosive fuels such as rice husks, straw and other fuel types.
The Uttaradit biomass power plant has been operating for over 3 years. It benefits both the local community and the environment by utilizing materials like rice husks and cane leaves, thereby reducing the prevalent practice of open field burning and significantly improving air quality.
