DP CleanTech Group Launches New UK Company to Address the UK Market

Waste-to-energy technology specialist DP CleanTech Group has partnered with waste operators Dauson Environmental Group and Brooke Energy Group to form DP SWIPCo UK Ltd. The new company has been established to develop reliable, lower cost Small Waste Incineration Plants that specifically address the mounting business pressures faced by small and medium-sized waste operators in the UK.

UK waste policy is shifting from landfill to a circular model — reusing, recycling, and treating residual waste as an energy source rather than a disposal problem. Shrinking landfill capacity, tighter environmental compliance, stricter sorting standards, and forthcoming waste-tracking and emissions frameworks are adding further cost and complexity across the industry.

For small and medium-sized waste businesses, meeting these requirements while covering rising operating costs has become a practical and financial challenge. The SWIP regime — designed to make Small Waste Incineration Plants easier to build — was meant to solve this. In practice, building and operating a SWIP has proved costly, complex, and unsustainable.

DP SWIPCo UK Ltd was created to address this conundrum. Bringing together the deep technical expertise of DP CleanTech and the first-hand experience of established waste operators, the company is committed to developing plants that help smaller operators to overcome structural industry practices and manage their costs more independently.  The first product will be introduced to the market at RWM in September.

Commenting on the new company, DP CleanTech Group CEO Simon Parker said "We formed DP SWIPCo to apply innovative thinking that fundamentally challenges the business practices that have failed the industry and brought about decimated supply chains, costs that can't be covered, and technology solutions that don't work. These consequences — layered on top of urgent environmental demands — have made the current model unworkable."

He added, "Our collective belief is that partnerships thrive when interests are aligned and the stakes are shared fairly between all parties, and we've brought that philosophy to life with DP SWIPCo. By combining our knowledge and insights, and carrying that same shared-stakes approach into how we work with clients, we aim to transform the norms of the industry and deliver real benefits to operators."

DP CleanTech CEO Simon Parker will be elaborating on this subject ‘Making the Economics of Small Waste Incineration Work for Investors and Owners’ at the EFD Tech Theatre at 2:45 PM, Thursday 17th September.

DP SWIPCo will be exhibiting at Stand EN-F76 in the Energy, Fuels, Decarbonisation zone at the RWM Exhibition, NEC Birmingham on 16-17 September 2026.
