DP Group and SEC have announced a cooperation partnership aimed at enhancing support for thermal renewable energy plants throughout their life cycle. By combining their complementary skills, (including using the affiliated company www.jel.no) the two companies are well equipped to offer fully integrated solutions for development work, plant upgrades, lifetime extensions, performance optimization; remedial options for distressed projects or even the delivery of a full plant.
For projects under this collaboration, SEC will handle civil works and electrical engineering, mechanical engineering for the power train and balance of plant, as well as construction supervision, testing, and commissioning.
DP will be responsible for the design, engineering, and manufacturing of the boiler, grate, and FGT systems, along with their installation and commissioning.
The initial common focus will be the UK market and in future, the Scandinavian and Polish markets. The first bid from this joint effort has already been submitted and demonstrates clear benefits for plant owners and operators in terms of expertise, integration, and project management. Going forward, the delivery of maximum value throughout a plant life cycle will be made more achievable through the solutions and implementation offered by this collaboration.
Simon Parker, CEO of DP, stated, “Together with SEC, we are actively developing innovative solutions and an updated approach to the waste industry. Focusing on proactive risk management, our goal is to foster partnerships that better align risk and incentivise key stakeholders in building plants with faster delivery and lower costs. I am thrilled to be taking this initiative to the next level and believe that this collaboration is exactly what the industry needs to build back better."
Jan Nilsson, CEO of SEC, added, "We have known Simon and DP for a long time, and we share the same approach in putting the success of project at the centre of a partnership. By working together, we bring a new perspective on what can be delivered across the whole plant, and clients can be assured that the combined expertise, technologies, and capabilities we bring are at the highest level.”
