DP CleanTech Acquires IuT Group and launches new Global Waste Management Division

DP CleanTech (HK) Ltd today announced its recent acquisition of the waste management specialist IuT GmbH and the simultaneous launch of DP’s new global Waste Management division – a new platform within the DP CleanTech Group for the provision of specific services to the waste management sector.

From the world’s first commercial biomass power plant in Denmark in 1996, DP technology has led the development of the global biomass industry and today’s announcement signifies the next step in DP’s growth. Simon Parker, DP’s CEO and Reinhard Goeschl, the founder and chairman of IuT today signed an agreement which integrates IuT with the DP Group. IUT’s proven know-how, technology and services for the waste management sector are highly complementary and aligned with DP’s own offerings and will support DP’s strategy to expand its services to meet the needs of waste management developers and operators. Reinhard Goeschl will take the position of Chairman of the newly formed division.

Since 2004, DP has been steadily expanding its solutions portfolio to include other leading technologies; through a combination of organic growth, acquisitions and partnerships. Founded in 1985, the IuT Group is a highly respected company committed to the design, construction and operation of waste management facilities; as well as the recognized pioneer of modern waste management systems and technologies such as separate collection (Wet/Dry systems), mechanical biological treatment and landfill mining. With longstanding success in the waste management industry, and proprietary, patented technologies, IuT has a reference list of over 115 projects around the world. These include sorting and treatment plants for all types of solid waste; digestion plants for organic waste or extracted organic waste fractions; state-of-the-art landfill controls, and landfill degasification systems. IuT is the global worldwide leader in existing landfill mining projects. With the addition of IuT’s patented technologies and considerable knowhow, DP will be able to offer enhanced end-to-end capabilities in waste management, and waste to energy conversion.

Simon Parker commented “We are delighted to welcome the IuT team to the DP family, and excited to embark on a new phase in our company’s development.  IuT lends a new dimension to our portfolio, and we aim to embed their knowledge and experience to enhance our range of holistic solutions to the waste and renewable energy industry.”

Reinhard Goeschl added “DP’s experience and knowledge in building new markets is well matched to IuT’s capabilities and we see huge potential for our AD and remediation technologies.  With my team’s knowhow and DP’s unique global execution model and supply chain I believe we have a very strong proposition with which to address these opportunities and bring our solutions to new markets”.
