DP CleanTech Signs 2nd Generation Ethanol Power Project in China

DP CleanTech has achieved another milestone in the rapidly developing biomass industry in China.

DP CleanTech has achieved another milestone in the rapidly developing biomass industry in China.  The signing of a contract with Shougang Holding Tianguan Group to deliver the first biomass- to- power project in China to use the by-product from 2nd generation ethanol production is a significant breakthrough for the industry and for DPCleanTech. The landmark contract will consist of a 1×18MW, 1×75tph boiler island delivery in 2014.

The project is located in Nanyang City, Henan province, and is an integral part of the Tianguan Group’s major 2nd generation ethanol production plant currently under construction.   The power plant will utilize the by- product from the ethanol production plant, thereby further improving both the energy efficiency and green credentials of the entire project.

Years of  research and operational experience in complex fuel analysis and optimization  have enabled DP to provide a solution which optimizes the plant to run at a highly efficient 540℃ and 92bar, at very high availability. Such HPHT parameters are now a reliable and established standard in the market, consistently outperforming older, more inefficient technologies, and delivering proven environmental and economic benefits.

Since DPCT was established in 2004, it has cooperated in developing biomass energy with numerous power and investment companies in China.  Tianguan Group is the 9th such partner, following such eminent companies as National BioEnergy Group (China State Grid), EverBright, Huaneng, Chant, CECEP, Taida, CGNPC and Shaoneng Group.

DPCT Group CEO Mr. Simon Parker made the following comments regarding the Tianguan project “We are absolutely delighted that together with Shougang Holding Tianguan Group we are pioneering such  innovative solutions in renewable energy.   Globally, second  generation ethanol production is in the early stages, and to be part of this world leading initiative is a responsibility that we  take very seriously. We are very keen to apply our  expertise and experience to  improve the project returns, both economically and environmentally ”  Mr Parker added that “The commitment of the Chinese Government and ShaoGang TianGuan  to pursue such creative projects gives me huge optimism for the future, and further validates our commitment to China. We feel privileged to be a part of this dynamic environment and will continue to dedicate ourselves to making it successful.”

Located in Nanyang City, Henan Province, Tianguan Group is one of China’s 520 “key enterprises” and one of Henan’s Top 50 growth groups. The group is also the mainstay enterprise chosen by the Chinese government to manufacture ethanol, with an annual output of 600,000 tons of ethanol and 180,000 tons of edible alcohol. Tianguan Group is engaged in biomass energy, biochemical engineering, fine chemical engineering and beverages, with an annual income of more than 6 billion CNY.
