DP CleanTech and Energa Group move forward with SNCR to prepare for new EU emissions regulations

DP CleanTech and Energa Group have signed an agreement to complete the installation of an SNCR system on an existing straw fired biomass CHP plant in Elblag, Poland. The original plant was the 1st one built in Poland that is based on straw biomass and has been operational since 2014; however adaptation is required to ensure that it meets the EU directive on NOx emissions that will become effective in 2016.

The project scope will encompass the engineering, delivery, installation and commissioning of the SNCR system on the current 90TPH, straw-pellet fired boiler, and work that has already started is expected to be completed in June 2015.  The Elblag plant emissions are currently well in excess of the stringent 200mg/Nm3 requirement, and DPCleanTech’s longstanding and acknowledged expertise in the straw-fired combustion process was a key factor in its ability to propose a guaranteed, cost-effective solution to the problem.  In addition, DPCT’s global engineering, supply chain and execution platform delivers the optimal balance of expertise, value and product quality for its well-informed customers.

DPCT Poland’s Managing Director, Krzysztof Dragon remarked “We are very pleased to be given the opportunity to demonstrate our capabilities to a significant client such as Energa – our technology is well proven; and we are confident that the Energa and DPCT project teams will work efficiently together to deliver as expected in June of this year.”

Group CEO, Mr. Simon Parker added that “With the increasing focus on emissions reduction and high efficiency conversion solutions in many jurisdictions, we are investing  heavily in this area to ensure that we can  extend the products and expertise to  complement our  world leading solutions.”

Founded in 2004, DP CleanTech designs, engineers, manufactures and commissions biomass and waste- to-energy power plants, providing complete solutions for turning waste materials into clean energy. With a reference list of over 80 biomass-to-power plants around the world using proprietary high pressure, high temperature technology originally developed in Denmark, DP CleanTech is recognized as a world leader in the biomass clean energy field with particular expertise in straw-firing and complex fuels.  DP has a strong presence in both Europe and Asia and having built the first biomass power plant in China is now responsible for over 30% of the biomass power plants operating in China today.
