Katowice,

Process Engineer

Purpose of The Role
DP Cleantech (DPCT) designs, engineers, manufactures, and commissions energy plants (cogeneration of electricity and heat) mainly utilizing various residual biomass fractions, and thus providing complete solutions for turning waste materials into clean energy.  Today DPCT in Poland has built up the service business from a manufacturing facility base in Jedrzejów and a resources hub executing solution delivery business for domestic and international clients based out of Katowice.

On a scale we are around 100 employees in Poland and in our Katowice office we are about 15 employees. The Katowice team of engineers and designers (7 employees) provide technical skillsets on 3D modelling (Aveva), layout & piping, control & instruments, detail design of feeder from technical proposals at tender phase to client contracts execution. They actively integrated into a global engineering platform which consists of engineers located in our offices in Denmark, China and UK.

We advance Katowice engineering capability in thermal process and conceptual boiler engineering. The Process Engineer will take the process engineering responsibility for selected biomass-fired boilers from sales phase to handover of the plant to operation. The Engineer will design process components for boiler plants, make the preliminary work for combustion calculations, lay out process components, which will in this connection coordinate with DPCT’s other engineering disciplines. Technically the work relates to our boiler plants and the related equipment such as pumps, valves, fans, air preheaters, burners etc.  Furthermore, the Engineer will contribute to design knowledge systematization in DPCT globally. Our solutions are tailored to suit the individual client’s specific requirements such as the type of biomass and other waste streams, plant capacity etc. Working with process and conceptual boiler design you will take part in the development of such solutions and the general optimization of our processes and products.

Main Tasks
The Engineer’s tasks are mainly but not limited to:
Conduct technical review of Request For quotation (RFQ) and client contract independently or work as a member of our engineering team working with process and boiler design for our energy plants.
Convert technical requirements of RFQ and contract into proper preparation of process calculations for DP Boiler and auxiliary equipment such as HMBD, P&IDs and P&FDs (with drafting assistance of Aveva designer), boiler capacity diagram, boiler strength and circulation calculations, inputs to foundation load plan, and functional descriptions for the control system (this will require close cooperation with the C&I discipline).
Sizing boiler auxiliary equipment and prepare technical specifications/datasheet such as Fans, Pumps, Valves, Fuel Feeder, Soot blowers, Slag and Ash Conveyor, Refractory, Cladding, and Insulation and so on.
Assess and validate technical documentation from vendors, clients, other DP offices or external freelancers per project review procedures.
Take part in external clarification meetings with clients, stakeholders or vendors as required.
Participate in start-up/commissioning of plants as necessary.
