Purpose of the Role and Task description
Location: Katowice, Poland
Line Manager: Head of Global Engineering, or when assigned to a specific project, work under technical leadership of the Lead Project Engineer
Job summary:
DP uses Inventor and Autocad software to develop 2D and 3D modeling of equipment and for the design layout and space management of equipment, pipes, steel structures and ducts on some systems. The Designer will work within a project or design team and will be primarily responsible for 2D and 3D design for specific projects in Inventor from sales phase to as-built documentation. The Designer will provide technical support to the sales team as well as the project execution team.
Main responsibilities and tasks:
1. Design, plan and model equipment in Inventor related to fuel feeding, boiler island, Flue gas cleaning of complete boiler plants based on conceptual design and specification instructions. This would include equipment, ducts, piping, and would necessarily be coordinated with the design of pipes and steel structures and the overall 3D model of the complete plant (the overall model is typically managed by our E3D designers in Aveva E3D).
2. Preparation of:
a) Layout drawings of equipment and systems on a boiler plant (fuel feed, boiler, flue gas cleaning).
b) Arrangement drawings of equipment and systems on a boiler plant (fuel feed, boiler, flue gas cleaning).
c) Production drawings of equipment produced by DP’s own workshop in Jedrzejow.
3. In connection with above tasks, also responsible for
a) Creation of 2D layout drawings containing all possible details included by 3D modelling options plus some 2D draft actions.
c) Exporting Inventor drawings into 2D AutoCAD version for detail design drawing making.
d) Creation of Material Take-Off, weight, lifting concepts, and volume reports in connection with 3D modelling for a project.
4. Regular and proactive communication with project stakeholders (customers, project manager and product responsible persons) to clarify arrangements and technical details.
5. Participate in preparation of technical specifications for procurement, manufacture, construction and operation.
6. Participate in internal and external meetings as requested (English language).
