Purpose of The Role
DP Cleantech (DPCT) designs, engineers, manufactures, and commissions energy plants (cogeneration of electricity and heat) mainly utilizing various residual biomass fractions, and thus providing complete solutions for turning waste materials into clean energy. Today DPCT in Poland has built up the service business from a manufacturing facility base in Jedrzejów and a resources hub executing solution delivery business for domestic and international clients based out of Katowice.
On a scale we are around 100 employees in Poland and in our Katowice office we are about 15 employees. The Katowice team of engineers and designers (7 employees) provide technical skillsets on 3D modelling (Aveva), layout & piping, control & instruments (C&I), detail design from technical proposals at tender phase to client contracts execution. They actively integrated into a global engineering platform which consists of engineers located in our offices in Denmark, China and UK.
Recent award of a major contract requires us to reinforce our existing C&I engineering capability in Katowice. The C&I Engineer will work closely with the other C&I engineer to share the discipline work, in the manner of working independently and collectively as part of the international project team. They take responsibility for all control/instrument - related functions from engineering and design, procurement support to commissioning support.
Main Tasks:
Being the integrated solution provider for boiler and flue gas treatment equipment, DPCT project typically requires the control & instrument discipline team to complete the following engineering activities and deliverables.
- Convert client technical requirements and internal design input for control/instrument related functions into formal technical specifications and datasheets that can be used for various project purposes as follows:
- Documents submission to client, sub-suppliers and other external stakeholders (e.g. DCS vendor) as per contractual requirements.
- Specifying for control parts or instruments procurement, and procurement of packaged equipment supplies incl. control/instrumentation parts in the scope.
- Preparing, verifying discipline documentation for testing.
- Take part in start-up/commissioning of plant as necessary. This may require business trips to project site in and out of Europe as well.
- C&I engineering and design works include mainly but not limited to: -
- Prepare control scheme on the basis of process description, in conjunction with process engineers.
- Prepare I/O list (boiler), verify and validate I/O list information submitted from vendors (excl. boiler).
- Prepare electrical consumption list.
- Provide PLC and hardware engineering support for company own products control system.
- Review, evaluate, amend, and approve technical documentations from project sub-suppliers incl. motor, VFD (if possible), junction boxes, wiring diagram, connections, terminal points definitions etc.
- Provide inputs (functional descriptions, control loops and logics) from projects sub-suppliers so to enable them complete overall configuration.
- Work together with project DCS supplier during programming of control logic, help DCS supplier to understand control function description and help them to program logic diagram, assist DCS supplier programming assure that function fulfillment.
- Assist site commissioning effort in modifying control loops, adjusting instruments and drives, and communicating with subcontractors etc.
- Attend regular internal and external project meetings on-line (most often) and/or in-person.
- Participate in DP´s endeavours to deliver documentation during and after project implementation on time.
- Participate in general maintenance of DP’s standard documentation.
Qualifications and skills:
- Min. 5 years engineering experience of C&I for thermal power plants, combined cycle power plants or bio-power power plant is essential.
- Experienced with site construction and commissioning is a plus.
