Job Summary:
DP uses cutting edge Aveva E3D software to develop 3D modeling for layout, space management and design of equipment, pipes, steel structures and ducts. The Lead Piping Engineer will be supported by a piping engineer and will be primarily responsible for pipe modeling and design from sales proposal to plant commissioning. This will include technical support for the sales effort, as well as execution of contracted projects.
Main Responsibilities and Tasks:
1. Using Aveva E3D to design, plan and model piping such as main critical pipelines and boiler internal pipes in conjunction with overall equipment layout, structural steel and ducts.
2. Preparation, verification and validation of
a) Lay-out drawings of piping further to modelling.
b) Pipes stress and flexibility calculation report.
c) Pipe material specification to comply with design and regulatory norms.
d) Isometric drawings and Bill of Material for procurement.
e) Design of pipe hangers and supporters including sizing and positions for procurement. Provide documentation and check detail designs from vendors or other offices of the Group.
f) Construction and as-built drawings, including submission from vendors.
3. Related to the above, responsibility for
a) Importing process data with 3D link from P&ID’s or Aveva Engineering.
b) Creation of 2D detail design drawings containing all possible details included by 3D modelling options, plus some 2D draft actions ideally done in E3D Draw.
c) Export E3D Draw drawings into 2D AutoCAD version for detail design drawing making.
4. Participate in relevant meetings with colleagues (English language) and/or external project stakeholders.
5. During site erection, adjust pipe routing and hanger/supporters, and ultimately produce as-built drawings to plant customer.
6. Coordinate and supervise job performance of a small, international piping team.
Required Skills:
• Experiences in calculating and designing pipes for thermal power plants, combined cycle power plants or bio-power power plant is essential.
• Advanced user of Aveva E3D or PDMS, CAESAR II.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office.
• Proficient ability to communicate at work in English, both written and spoken.
• Positive team player.
