Job Summary:
The Commissioning Engineer will be an important role in strengthening DP’s project execution capability, bringing professional knowhow and experience to ensure projects are operational according to contract. The presence of the Commissioning Engineer on site provides assistance to the project manager/commissioning manager in ensuring that proper procedures, checks and reviews have been undertaken prior to handover. The Commissioning Engineer holds a workstation in katowice office during the time off from sitework, which he/she assists Controil & Instrumenation engineering/design work. The role requires office work, international travel and onsite presence, with schedules dependent on project requirements.
Main Responsibilities and Tasks:
1. Activities in following areas:
a) Mechanical installation correctly completed, follow up on remedies if any
b) Correct installation of signal cables (communication from process to DCS);
c) Test of signals
d) Loop test
e) Functional testing
f) First initializing (motor valves)
g) MCC test
h) Communication between Siemens PLC
i) Ensure electrical connection to equipment properly and functionally
j) Check I/O list from sub-suppliers
k) Supervision and Advice during software programming
l) Adjustment of software during cold and hot commissioning
m) Supervision of operation during hot commissioning
n) Advising client during hot commissioning
o) Solving of problems and suggest improvements during hot commissioning
p) Commissioning activities for AD plants
q) Prior commissioning activities coordinating of documentation for the project
r) Prior commissioning on Site assisting with procurement activities with project purchases
s) It is expected that training will be required for some of above activities until these will be taken individually
t) All other activities connected with commissioning and project execution inline with Commissioning Engineer knowledge
2. Project control procedures:
a) Assist in devising and adjusting commissioning procedure, time schedule, adapting to project parameters and overall schedule as required
b) Follow and / or revise the project commissioning on schedule
c) Provide consultation, advice and guidelines to site commissioning team when and where it is necessary
3. Assist in communications with clients and project stakeholders: -
a) Contact and coordinate with client to provide prompt support where and when necessary
b) Communicate the project commissioning plan, procedures and prints etc. with onsite project commissioning team and other relevant partners
c) Help to ensure procedures for all project QA & QC documents are recorded, distributed to relevant users, and archived in accordance with standard project file keys.
4. Engineering and design of Control & Instrumentation: -
Under supervision of the C&I Engineer, assist in following activities.
a) Control scheme,
b) Input/Output list,
c) Logic control diagram,
d) Function description,
e) P&I diagram,
f) PLC and hardware engineering supports for company own products control system,
g) Review technical documentations from projects subcontractors in concern control parts or instruments,
h) Technical coordination with project DCS supplier.
Required Skills:
• Relevant site commissioning experience of power generation plant project.
• Must know P&I diagrams, control systems of power plant. It is a plus if can read PLC coding, logic
diagram.
• Fluent English communication (verbal/writing) at work level.
• Worked for process, C&I engineering of main power plant equipment will be a plus.
• Able to travel internationally.
