Founded in 2004, DP CleanTech designs, engineers, manufactures and commissions biomass and waste to energy power plants, providing complete solutions for turning waste materials into clean energy. DP CleanTech has built over 50 biomass power plants and has a further 30 under development, using high pressure, high temperature technology originally developed in Denmark. Today DP CleanTech is recognized as a world leader in the biomass clean energy field with a strong presence in both Europe and Asia. DP CleanTech built the first biomass power plant in China and is responsible for over 30% of the biomass power plants operating in China today.
Our management team consists of international professionals dedicated to the formulation and implementation of our mission, vision and strategic objectives. View the profiles below to learn more about the people who drive DP’s outstanding performance and facilitate its excellent work environment.
Simon Parker has been Chairman and CEO of DP CleanTech Holdings Limited since 2009 when it was formed as the engineering and construction arm of Dragon Power Group. At this time, the company also managed over 30 biomass power plants in China.
Travis joined DP CleanTech in 2010, prior to which he had spent 15 years working in investment banking in Hong Kong and Tokyo. A fluent Mandarin speaker and writer, he has 9 years of CFO experience in China.
DP’s heritage reflects the development of the biomass industry around the world, ever since the world’s first straw fired power plant was constructed in Denmark in 1990 using the pioneering technology that is still an intrinsic part of our expertise today. Since then, we have developed and established new power plant solutions in Europe, Asia and Africa including construction of the first biomass power plant in Shanxian, China; and Thailand’s first large scale coconut waste-to-energy power plant. Browse our timeline to see the milestones we have achieved as we have expanded the breadth our solutions to of meet the needs of clients around the world.
DP CleanTech’s solutions are based on pioneering HTHP technology originally developed in Europe. Since then, our experience in delivering 80+ biomass plants worldwide has yielded further advances in technology, plant efficiencies and economies of scale. As well as HTHP technology, DP also has acquired the rights to groundbreaking gasification, flue gas cleaning and advanced automation technologies from European companies which are leaders in their field. Europe is also an important service point for DP and we have a manufacturing workshop in Jędrzejów, Poland, an engineering services center in Katowice Poland, and our Global Engineering Centre (GEC) in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Our range of solutions has been optimized for the complex fuels found in the region; and with an office in Bangkok, Thailand, DP has both the solutions and the execution ability to successfully deliver projects throughout SE Asia. Our Thai office was established in 2009 in order to capitalize on a number of specific opportunities for biomass projects in the region. Thailand is one of the more advanced biomass markets in the SEA and Australasia region, and being based in Bangkok provides greater visibility of the whole market as well as an ability to move quickly if needed. DP built the world’s first “coconut waste to energy” plant in the world, which started operation in April 2016. Its success has been well recognized and the plant is an example of DP’s expertise in providing technical and practical solutions that are founded on a deep understanding of fuel combustion characteristics.
India has ambitious plans to develop its biomass energy industry, and with an abundance of agricultural biomass in India, particular rice straw, rice husk and bagasse, there is every potential for biomass-based energy to play an increasingly important role in environmentally sound energy provision. For efficient combustion, these fuels require specific technologies and expertise, and DP CleanTech is the pioneer and acknowledged leader in such solutions.
DP CleanTech applies advanced European technology combined with experience, economies of scale, and a global supply chain to deliver highly reliable biomass and waste-to-energy systems at competitive prices.
DP CleanTech built the first biomass power plant in China. DP has its Asia headquarters in Beijing and has developed more biomass power plants than any other company in China.
DP CleanTech is a pioneer, advocate and practitioner of biomass power and green energy in China. Our power plants have improved the livelihoods of millions of farmers; helped state owned utilities profitably meet renewable targets and have improved the perception of biomass power as a viable industry. Emissions regulations in China are amongst the most rigorous in the world, and DP’s technologies have integrated flue gas cleaning technology to ensure that these regulations are met efficiently and cost effectively. Economic, consumer and urban population growth have contributed to an emerging waste disposal problem and DP has both combustion and gasification technologies to address this market.
DP CleanTech is dedicated to developing energy recovery solutions from an increasing variety of biomass and waste streams worldwide. We have pioneered the effective utilization of many very abundant, but complex, fuels; and we are committed to extending the benefits of this technology around the world. We have partners in Latin America with whom we are bidding on projects for sugar cane trash; and we are also working on projects in Australia and Canada for new fuel types.
Our business is founded on technology solutions that can make a positive difference to the quality of the environment we live in. Our business operates on the belief that by developing and managing it in a manner that is consistently socially, ethically and economically responsible, we will create an enterprise that is progressively more competitive, sustainable and profitable.
