Fuel assessment
The first and most vital step in the process requires an extensive evaluation and understanding of the fuel type and condition. Many variations in form, chemical composition, calorific value and moisture content exist between fuels, all of which are important to the design. For example, woody fuels typically have higher moisture content than straw fuels and offer further opportunites for heat recovery. To date, DP CleanTech has worked with over 60 fuel types. Capitalizing on this knowledge, DP CleanTech will work closely with you during the planning phase to define the right fuel mix, fuel preparation and fuel handling.

Design & Engineering
One of DP CleanTech’s core competences is its expertise in the design and engineering of biomass and waste-to-energy combustion systems. DP CleanTech has been able to fine tune its technology based on feedback gained from operating 20 biomass power plants in China over several years.
Today, DP CleanTech is one of few clean energy companies employing cutting edge CFD software to simulate the internal combustion conditions of the boiler. This allows each new project to be tailor-designed according to the specific fuels involved. DP CleanTech’s designs are in use worldwide and take into consideration local legislative standards.
Mixed fuel boiler - There is a growing demand for boilers that have the capacity to combust multiple fuels to secure a continual, reliable fuel supply, DP CleanTech recognizes the importance of this demand and has allocated much of its engineering resources towards optimizing the mixed fuel solution. DP CleanTech has already put 25 mixed fuel power plants into operation, each displaying excellent year round performance using multiple fuel mixes.

Installation - DP CleanTech’s experienced engineering and installation teamcan handle all aspects of the development, manufacturing and installation ofthe boiler island, on an EPC basis. The boiler island comprises all components of a power plant other than the turbine. It therefore includes includes the boiler itself (including the pressure parts), the fuel handling system, the feeding systems and the combustion waste handling systems. Commissioning
Commissioning a biomass power plant is not the same as commissioning a fossil fuel plant and requires a customized approach for each fuel type. Commissioning involves all the preparation steps between a plant being installed and being fully operational. These steps include plant testing, preparing documentation, training operating staff and making appropriate changes for automation.
Our fully qualified and experienced team is dedicated to only biomass plants. Commissioning a biomass power plant for a specific fuel is essential for ensuring that a plant obtains a stable maximum capacity.
