Fuel assessment
The first and most vital step in the process requires an extensive evaluation and understanding of the fuel type and condition. Many variations in form, chemical composition, calorific value and moisture content exist between fuels, all of which are important to the design. For example, woody fuels typically have higher moisture content than straw fuels and offer further opportunites for heat recovery. To date, DP CleanTech has worked with over 60 fuel types. Capitalizing on this knowledge, DP CleanTech will work closely with you during the planning phase to define the right fuel mix, fuel preparation and fuel handling.
Fuel Handling - To Achieve an efficient combustion, the fuel must be delivered to the boiler at the optimal rate, density and moisture content. DP CleanTech has developed its technology to deal with all types of biomass feedstock as well as municipal solid waste and mixed fuel sources. DP CleanTech will advise on and engineer fuel storage and handling systems to accommodate your fuel and improve the operation of your power plant.
Design & Engineering
DP CleanTech’s core competence is today and has always been its expertise in the design and engineering of biomass combustion systems. DP CleanTech has been able to fine tune its technology based on feedback gained from operating 20 biomass power plants in China over several years.
Today, DP CleanTech is one of few clean energy companies employing cutting edge CFD software to simulate the internal combustion conditions of the boiler. This allows each new project to be tailor-designed according to the specific fuels involved. DP CleanTech’s designs are in use worldwide and take into consideration local legislative standards.
Mixed fuel boiler - There is a growing demand for boilers that have the capacity to combust multiple fuels to secure a continual, reliable fuel supply, DP CleanTech recognizes the importance of this demand and has allocated much of its engineering resources towards optimizing the mixed fuel solution. DP CleanTech has already put 25 mixed fuel power plants into operation, each displaying excellent year round performance using multiple fuel mixes.

Procurement - DP CleanTech’s well managed supply chain includes a dedicated quality department, diversified manufacturing facilities in Denmark and Poland, and strategic partnerships with key suppliers globally, all of which ensures first class quality and flexibility for your project.
Installation - DP CleanTech manufactures and supplies boiler islands, which comprise all parts of a power plant other than the turbine and includes, the boiler itself (including the pressure parts), the fuel handling system, the feeding systems and the combustion waste handling systems. In addition, DP CleanTech will facilitate the installation of the boiler island, which we call a boiler island turnkey solution, or we will help you find an appropriate partner to do it, based on your location.
Commissioning
Commissioning a biomass power plant is not the same as commissioning a fossil fuel plant and requires a customized approach for each fuel type. Commissioning involves all the preparation steps between a plant being installed and being fully operational. These steps include plant testing, preparing documentation, training operating staff and making appropriate changes for automation.
Our fully qualified and experienced team is dedicated to only biomass plants. Comissioning a biomass power plant for a specific fuel is essential for ensuring that a plant obtains a stable maximum capacity.
After Sales Services
In order to ensure you get the most out of your power plant and experience minimal down time DP CleanTech provides operating training, 24 hour servicing, maintenance, repair and upgrade services on and off site for existing biomass boilers and related boiler installations. DP CleanTech performs both after installation and intermediate operational services on all of its own installations as well as those designed by other manufacturers.
DP CleanTech’s servicing team, has many years of experience servicing boiler plants around the world and are always within reach 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
Stay Ahead: Retrofit
DP CleanTech enables its customers to maintain the highest possible efficiencies by adding new technologies or features to old or even outdated assemblies. By carefully assessing boiler performance to identify any potential restrictions or limitations to the boiler efficiency, DP CleanTech is able to implement the optimal solution accordingly.
Clean up: Boiler modifications
Substantial reductions in emissions can be achieved by modifying boiler characteristics such as flue gas temperature, the size of the particles burned, the size and unburned carbon level of the fly ash and the fly ash residence time. DP CleanTech’s modifications also promote the in-flight capture of mercury and have proven to reduce flue gas emissions of mercury by more than 70%.
Smooth running: Troubleshooting
Developing and maintaining complex systems where the symptoms of a problem can have many possible causes is a demanding task. DP CleanTech’s trouble shooting engineers have the experience and knowledge required to help you identify malfunctions and to eliminate their causes in the installation or boiler island parts.
Better safe than sorry: Annual service overhauls
Prudent precautionary measures and regular service overhauls workout considerably cheaper in the long run. DP CleanTech offers thorough annual service overhauls on a long-term contractual basis.
