Tailored Combustion Engineering

Tailored to your Fuel

For DP CleanTech, a complete solution means delivering clean energy at the right parameters, whatever the fuel. The many varying physical properties in biomass and waste fuels around the world combined with chemical properties that span the entire periodic table make delivering clean energy a complicated business requiring special expertise. DP CleanTech tailor engineers its systems according to the fuel and, where appropriate, uses specialized technologies and techniques to maximize the performance of the power plant and ensure that emissions fall within regulatory standards. DP CleanTech is continually developing technologies to widen the range of fuels and fuel mixes that can be efficiently combusted, which will increase the opportunities for biomass power as a future energy source.

Emission reductions

DP CleanTech uses state of the art technology to reduce harmful emissions and a specialized Flue Gas Cleaning division in UK. Click here to learn more about Flue Gas Cleaning

To mitigate NOx emissions, DP CleanTech integrates SNCR (Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction) systems into the top of the furnace, which inject ammonia or urea into the flue gas. This facilitates chemical bonding and the removal of NOx gases.

In a similar way, SO2 and HCL can be removed in a wet scrubber by using lime solution.

In addition, DP CleanTech’s advanced air systems are designed based on CFD modelling, which delivers a better combustion with low carbon monoxide emissions.

Heat recovery: DP CleanTech implements measures to recover heat wherever possible and maximize thermal efficiency. A combination of low outlet flue gas temperature (120-130 C) and thorough combustion results in higher boiler efficiencies (90%-92%). Fuels with high moisture content offer further opportunity for heat recovery. In suitable circumstances, DP CleanTech has boosted plant cycle efficiencies to 101%.

Slag removal: DP CleanTech has an excellent track record for selecting the right slag conveyors for removal of the slag produced by any given fuel, in this way guaranteeing a safe and reliable operation.
