    Straw Bale Feeding System

    DP CleanTech has developed its own unique feeding system to handle straw bales and the complicated physical properties that exist in straw. Our systems are highly automated, easy to operate and highly stable. The specialized safety systems guard fuel against fire, self burning and jamming.

    Improved availability: Over the years, DP CleanTech’s straw bale feeding system has proven to be extremely effective, resulting in trouble free operation for clients and enabling high plant availability.

    Improved efficiency: The system is automated and includes scarifiers to ensure the bales are fed into the boiler at a rate and density that guarantees an efficient combustion.

    Combustion grate

    Water Cooled Vibrating Grate

    DP CleanTech’s water cooled vibrating grate was designed and developed specifically for the combustion of biomass fuels. It has proven to be the best combustion system, particularly for herbaceous and woody fuels.

    Improved availability: The water cooled vibrating grate is one of the most reliable combustion grates in the world. The vibration inhibits the formation of large slag particles, which are common in straw and waste wood fuels. This makes the grate suitable for burning fuels with high slagging and sintering propensities. In addition, a vibrating grate requires less maintenance than a moving grate because it has fewer moving parts.

    Improved efficiency: The water cooled vibrating grate is fully automated and is one of the contributing factors to DP CleanTech achieving boiler efficiencies of 90-92%. This is due to the unique vibration movement and air distribution system, which optimizes the combustion process evenly across the grate.

    Improved fuel flexibility: The vibrating grate is one of few grates able to effectively accommodate mixtures of woody and herbaceous biomass fuel.

    Boiler

    High Pressure High Temperature Boiler

    Our advanced boilers are based on a high pressure and high temperature technology. The increased steam parameters accelerate the steam flow and create significant  improvements in the electrical efficiency of the plant.

    Improved efficiency: DP CleanTech implements measures to recover heat wherever possible and maximize thermal efficiency. A low outlet flue gas temperature (120-130 C) and efficient combustion result in higher boiler efficiencies (90%-92%).

    Improved availability: The ash residue resulting from combustion of biomass fuels has a high alkali metal content that can lead to corrosion. The SOx and Cl found in the flue gas can cause both high and low temperature corrosion and ash fouling. Our biomass boiler technology uses specially modified structures, selected metals and special measures such as the following to inhibit such problems:

    • A patented air pre-heater that is heated by boiler feed water instead of flue gas, which causes corrosion.
    • The super heater pipes have no fins, which would otherwise block the gas path.
    • The super heater’s high pressure zone uses special anti-corrosion material.
    • The air pre-heater is coupled with a pipe flue gas cooler, which enables a lower flue gas exit temperature (i.e. higher boiler efficiency). It also reduces corrosion in the cold end of the flue gas cooler, which is a common problem in most biomass boilers.
    • 3 stage combustion air and 4 stage steam super heaters make the boiler very flexible in terms of the type and moisture content of the fuel.
